WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally and completely inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings, and that they are our only authority in faith and practice (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit—that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections (Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19-20; Romans 8:9; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became man without ceasing to be God. He took on humanity and dwelt among us so he can give himself as the sacrifice for our sins. Through his death we have forgiveness from God, paving the way to a personal relationship with him. He resurrected from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is coming again to take home those who believe in him. (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Matthew 1:21-23; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 14:1-6; 20:28; Acts 1:9-10; 2:18-36; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 1:7; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 2:1-2; Revelation 22:20).

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, convicts men of sin, regenerates, indwells, seals, and sets believers apart unto a holy life. He keeps and empowers believers day by day, and He is the Teacher of the Word of God and guide for our daily life. (John 16:8; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14)

We believe that God created man in His own image, and that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is conscious and eternal separation from God in Hell. We believe that all men are born with a sinful nature, evidenced by sinful acts, and that man is totally depraved. In spite of man’s sinfulness, God so loves him that He gave His Son for man’s salvation. (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Luke 16:23; Romans 3:10-23, 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8).

We believe that salvation is by God’s grace, his free gift to man received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, whose life he offered by death on the cross of Calvary so that man can be forgiven of his sins and reconciled to God. A person who places his trust in Jesus as Savior is completely forgiven of his sins and is declared righteous by God. We believe that salvation is a permanent possession of the believer, his life thoroughly secured in the hands of God. (John 1:12, 10:27-29; Romans 5:10; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:9).

We believe that the local church is composed of regenerated, baptized believers, voluntarily united together for the purpose of worship, spiritual growth, fellowship of believers, and service. We believe that the church has been commissioned by Christ to propagate the Gospel unto the uttermost parts of the earth. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-47).
